Exciting News

Well it's been a pretty busy and exciting week around here. On Thursday I went over to Seattle to add to my collection a the sperm bank. On Friday I had a laser hair removal session on my face and neck. It will probably be the last full session I have. I'll just have to go in for touch ups now and then. The big news though is that I started hormone therapy on Friday too. So I expect to experience a few changes in the near future. Exciting times to say the least.

I also had a pretty awful experience on Friday involving alcohol. I quit drinking back in November and had managed to remain sober for a good 6 months. The past few months I've been slipping though and had been trying my best to hide it from Trixie. On Friday I ended up drinking too much. Nothing terrible happened other than the embarrassment of being confronted by a loved one, but the potential was there. I realize now that I need help if I plan on staying sober and that having a drink every now and then just isn't going to cut it for me. So I've started attending AA meetings to help get me back on track. Overall I think it's going to be a good thing. At least I'll be able to start HRT out on the right foot.

Yay for hormones! You must be excited to finally get started. I can't wait to see you become more *you*.

It took a lot of courage to post about the drinking stuff. I'm pretty headstrong when it comes to wanting to fix all of my problems myself, but I really think that a lot of what they teach in AA is valuable, whether you go to one meeting a day or one a year. Things like taking inventories so you release toxic emotions like anger, guilt and shame are great steps for EVERYONE to take.

Hang in there! It's allll happening.

Yeah, after staring at those prescriptions for so long (since February) it feels great to finally get the ball rolling.

I think there are a lot of substance abuse problems within the Trans community AND within the adult entertainment/sex worker community. So I think there is some value in writing about it here and acknowledging it. And sharing a little bit of what I'm experiencing being part of both of those worlds.

Thanks for your encouragement!
Dear dear dear ... you are such a light. I hope you stick with AA, because I do believe a world based on their principles would be a most awesome place.

You know I adore you ... and Trixie too. You are both so down-to-earth and honest, how can anybody not just love you to pieces.

xo, Angela
